A teacup will never just be a teacup, again. It’s a typical story really. Boy meets girl. Girl takes boy home to meet family. Family overcompensates for the racial difference between the two by acting all weird and stuff. Girl’s family auctions off boys body to the highest bidding white man who wants to live in it?Peele subtly uses actual racial microaggressions as a way of alerting the audience of danger. At first we’re all, “Oh God,if I had a dollar for every time I heard that one.” Then the horror really seeps in, once we realize exactly how much danger our protagonist is in! Jordan Peele has now become the master of suspense, and I am here for it.
